Ingredients for 12 pieces
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted cold butter (cut in big cube)
- 1 tablespoons corn oil
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup of fresh milk
- For brushing:
- 3 tablespoons softened butter
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
Steps
- Preheat oven at 200°C.
- Mix brushing ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
- Mix sieved plain flour, baking powder, salt in a big bowl.
- Add in cold cubed butter and press the butter into the flour mixture with a fork.
- Pour in corn oil, grated cheese and mix well.
- Add milk into the dough slowly, bit by bit and fold until well-combined.
- Form and shape the dough into small round biscuit.
- Bake for 25 mins at 200°C, take out and do the layer brushing onto all biscuit. Bake for another 10-15 mins till the surface become golden brown. (My biscuit look not fully cooked at original baking time 20 mins, I think this is because different oven)
