Sugarless cheddar cheese biscuit

Ingredients

Ingredients for 12 pieces

  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted cold butter (cut in big cube)
  • 1 tablespoons corn oil
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup of fresh milk
  • For brushing:
  • 3 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Steps

  1. Preheat oven at 200°C.
  2. Mix brushing ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
  3. Mix sieved plain flour, baking powder, salt in a big bowl.
  4. Add in cold cubed butter and press the butter into the flour mixture with a fork.
  5. Pour in corn oil, grated cheese and mix well.
  6. Add milk into the dough slowly, bit by bit and fold until well-combined.
  7. Form and shape the dough into small round biscuit.
  8. Bake for 25 mins at 200°C, take out and do the layer brushing onto all biscuit. Bake for another 10-15 mins till the surface become golden brown. (My biscuit look not fully cooked at original baking time 20 mins, I think this is because different oven)
